The 4 Supported Discount Types

1. 1. Percentage Discount (% Off):
   • Deducts a specified percentage (e.g. 15% off) from all bundled products.
   • Best suited for volume breaks (Buy 2 save 10%, Buy 3 save 20%) and Mix & Match box builders.
   • Scales automatically with variant pricing—if a customer selects a larger size with a higher base price, the percentage discount stays proportional.
2. 2. Fixed Amount Discount ($ Off Total):
   • Deducts a flat currency sum (e.g. $25.00 off) from the total bundle price.
   • Ideal for high-ticket electronics, kits, or holiday gift sets.
   • The discount is split across individual items proportionally based on each item's weight in the total order value.
3. 3. Fixed Package Price ($ Total):
   • Overrides the regular price sum to charge a guaranteed bundle total (e.g. 'Any 3 T-shirts for $60.00' instead of $75.00).
   • Shopify Function calculates the net discount amount dynamically and assigns it across line items.
4. 4. Free Gift / 100% Off:
   • Prices a specific designated accessory, sample, or mystery item at $0.00 upon bundle selection.
   • Guarantees that the free item is tracked as an authentic SKU in warehouse fulfillment.

Proportional Allocation & Refund Safety

• Example: A bundle contains Item A ($40) and Item B ($60) with a $20 fixed discount (Total = $80).
• Item A receives 40% of the discount ($8 off ➔ net price $32).
• Item B receives 60% of the discount ($12 off ➔ net price $48).
• If the customer returns Item A, Shopify refunds exactly $32 rather than full $40, preventing discount exploitation.
