Modern Shopify themes utilize slide-out AJAX cart drawers (such as Dawn, Prestige, Showcase, Impulse, and Warehouse) to display updated cart items without full page reloads. Combo Bundles is built to natively trigger and listen to standard Shopify JavaScript cart events.

How Event Synchronization Works

  • Dispatched Events: When a shopper clicks 'Add to Cart', Combo Bundles adds the items via the Shopify /cart/add.js endpoint and automatically dispatches standard custom events: cart:refresh, cart:updated, and cart:build.
  • Drawer Auto-Open: Depending on your selection in Settings > General > On Click Behavior, the app can either keep the customer on page, open your theme's native cart drawer, or redirect straight to checkout.
  • Cart Transform Visibility: In the cart drawer, bundles appear with their clean package title, while component items are linked seamlessly with automatic discount subtotals.
